Porcelanosa was founded in Villarreal, in the Spanish province of Castellon, in 1973 with 98 employees and 25,000 square meters of manufacturing space for the production of ceramic paving and coverings. Venis, the second ceramic brand within the Group, and Gamadecor, its kitchen furnishings business, were set up as the company diversified further. In 1993, System-Pool was established and the Group entered the hydro-massage sector. Seven years later, in 1999, L'Antic Colonial went into business to explore the manufacturing of paving and coverings in natural materials. In 2001, Butech and Noken joined the Group, with the first company offering technical solutions for the installation and maintenance of all the Group's products, while Noken specialized in faucets, sinks, toilets, radiators and bathroom accessories. In 2004, Ceranco was created, a new brand that offers ceramic products for large-scale projects. Today, the eight companies within the Porcelanosa Group are masters of innovation and quality, two important factors that have helped transform the business into one of the leading Spanish enterprises with worldwide recognition. Today, the Group boasts 350 stores in 74 countries, a team of 4,000 staff members, 600,000 square meters of installations, an automated warehouse which was inaugurated in Villarreal in 2003 and is the largest of its kind in Europe, and an annual turnover of 690 million euros. |
